About Me
I grew up in a small town by the name of Boyd’s Cove in central Newfoundland. I grew up an overweight kid until I fell in love with sports. My sports of choice were basketball, volleyball and softball. During this time period, I also started weight training with just a simple Weider cable set up in my basement with the goal of improving my game on the court and in the diamond.
My passion for bodybuilding stemmed from weight lifting in my teens and grew to more than just a hobby when I moved to St. John’s, NL to pursue my Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry (Nutrition) as well as a minor in Biology. I competed in my very first bodybuilding show at the age of 18 in my first year of university. Throughout that entire preparation process, I knew that competitive bodybuilding was my addiction and something I wanted to do more seriously.
4 years later I completed my degree in Nutrition with honours status. Over those 4 years, I spent my existence learning about the biochemical processes that take place in the human body, reviewing scientific literature, and the application that nutrition has on human performance and function. In addition, I took this knowledge and began applying it my everyday bodybuilding life. Now that my academic life has come to a close for the time being, I had to decide what to do next with this new knowledge. I always knew that I enjoyed educating and helping people see nutrition in the same lenses as I do. My main objective as a Nutritionist is to provide truths behind what actually contributes to a healthy and long life as well as offer my knowledge to athletes and bodybuilders. Because of this, I decided to develop my own coaching business which would focus on not just providing cookie cutter plans but to actually educate and teach people.
I choose to name my brand Team Transcendence because the word transcendence means elevating to new levels. I believe that everyone has the capability to live a better life than what is perceived as “normal”, it just takes some guidance from me and discipline from you.
Strive To Be The Best You.
